The Stars and the Cookie Jar

I don't know why every customer and fellow partner at work thinks I should be jubilant about ...Hamas-related current events. Am I supposed to be happy that someone was killed, even if 'my side' did the killing? And am I supposed to spend a long time forming an opinion on the subject just because I'm the only Jew some people know, and (cough!) therefore my opinion is the opinion of all Jews everywhere?

So I'm miffy, and work today was too long, and go read shirei_shibolim if you want enlightened commentary. He's young enough to remain enlightened yet.

Speaking of young, old, whatever, nu? I am twenty-three on Friday. No, Ema, I still do not have that MFA.

I can't write that fast. Or, I spend too much time gawping at other people's writing. For instance, I'm reading Nikos Kazantsakis right now, which takes time and thought, but I also murder plenty of time reading ladyjaida and copperbadge 's fic. (This, to abuse the lj-link feature, is all rymenhild 's fault. She spent some time on an entry a week or so back with lots of yummy stuff rec'd in it.) I almost have my fill of Remus/Sirius, and have come to other conclusions, such as the only reason to write HP fic is Remus/Sirius and Harry/Draco? WTF??

...Off to render me some SlightlyMoreComplicated! Mac (sorry, this is only funny if you lived in some kind of sitch in college that reduced you to eating EasyMac) and read something nice and pointless. Or, you know, The Last Temptation of Christ.

I hear Brandeis screwed many in the housing lottery this year. How nice to see that some things about the old alma mater never change... I wonder if they'll let people bunk down in that new antibody-shaped student center. (I have never seen it, and it's probably quite nice, but the consensus at the time was 'Please, sir, I want some more... housing'.
