I'm temping for the temp, you see.

Well, the temp is at my little fishbowl of a desk, and I am here at the Admin to the CEO's desk, which has a MASSIVE PLATE WINDOW and a lovely flat-panel monitor and a squishy keyboard.

I'm sure I could get a squishy keyboard if I wanted one, but you know. The grass is always greener.

Or, in this case, the leaves are always redder, the sky is always brighter and the light is always more natural.

In other good news, Dar tonight! Haven't been to a professional live music event in forever.

So, tonight! Dar at the Birchmere. Just a few impressions.

1. The opening act, Girlyman, was very fabulous. We bought their CD on the strength of their live performance, and I'm glad I saw them live first, because I'd nevera paid to see them live on the strength of their debut CD (it's very... nonproduced).

2. Dar's was an excellent set. Even if Dar Floyd is still scary. She has the energy and commitment to the audience that makes me wonder if she's ever done a crappy show.

3. It was uplifting to hear all the women (and some of the men, I'm sure, but let me tell you how the table next to us was women and wimmin and womynenin) in the audience singing "I will not be afraid of women!"

4. [livejournal.com profile] darthrami and I had a wonderful time with our friends and coworkers. Especially when 'Iowa' turned into a group sing and everyone was waving their iPods and cellular phones in the darkness.

Also!

There is NOTHING like a venue-ful of lesbians to make you appreciate the wife you've got.
