The candlelight service was lovely, even if the choir was a little thin and elderly. It's not like anything I've ever experienced before, and I hope we get to go again next year. Got to see the pastor who married us, which was lovely. He wished me a happy Chanukah! He always seems so warm and genuine, that fellow.

N's family did not eat me.

Tomorrow, which I guess is today -- Christmas day -- we're getting up at half past six to load up the Flexcar with turkey dinners and toys for needy families, delivering them around, and then returning here for showers, gifts, and the babka. Of doom.

I am sleepy. So sleepy. Thud.

Today was wonderful. I got a heap of presents from my in-laws, including snuggly flannel pyjamas and a selection of Peet's super-premium tea line, including Pride of the Port and Ti Kwan Yin, my two favorites aside from Summer House. Presents for the wife and me included a wall clock, two lamps, a George Foreman Grill from FoGA, and the coveted dual-controlled, cotton twill, machine washable electric blanket.

My wife got me three top-of-the-line Wusthof knives, in various sizes and shapes of sharp.

She was concerned I wouldn't like them.

Ahahaha.

*adds to collection of food-stabby things, joyfully*

Christmas dinner was lovely, even though the roast of prime rib was resoundingly medium-pink and I prefer a little more sang for my buck. My wife made Yorkshire pudding! Mmmm, sizzling suet.

It's the best Christmas I ever had.

And then we lit the menoyre.

Happy Chanukah, everyone!

Lest you think my day wasn't Jewish enough along with all the Gentile gentilities, we had a whole big discussion of tikkun olam while delivering gourmet meals to the needy.
