Pamela Helen Stephen as Julius Caesar in Handel's eponymous opera (I think it's Caesar in Egypt, but let us not split staves.)  I believe the public's reaction to this one is Hail kitty kitty kitty.

Persons of the 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery. Everyone who's seen this photo today has said nice hips there, soldier to our young -- ah -- man in the center. Aside from the bustline, the comparatively spiff tailoring of her turnout suggests this person knew how to sew well -- almost as if they'd done it from the time they could hold a needle!

And here's the spectacular Tony Curtis, in an early photo that makes him so yummy, I had to share. If they had a photo of Tony Curtis in regimentals, that would be up on my wall in my cell while I chiseled away the plaster behind it...

I wish I could get you a poster.

I'm sorry, all I seem to be able to find is Tony Curtis in his actual Navy days:

Apparently he chose submarines in the Pacific because of Cary Grant in Destination Tokyo (1944), which I find incredibly endearing.

Oh, he is adorable. I want you to know I'm objectifying him right now. This minute.

(I thought about at least printing the P.H. Stephen on our superfidelious color printer at work. I may yet give in.)

She serves as a remarkable case for the clothes making the man, though. I looked her up yesterday and in a dress, she looks totally feminine. Even the lines of her face read differently.

Tony Curtis in that photo does make a very sweet and lovely--and strong--young woman!

I had no idea how pretty he was in still photographs! My only experience is Some Like It Hot, but then [livejournal.com profile] sovay mentioned another thing of his, and when he is made up to look butch (I think the film was The Defiant Ones, you can see how he looks sort of otherwordly fey when he's made up to look like himself.)
