My loving, uinderstanding fiancee requests you to note that she has heard my concerns regarding her taking time off, and has gently outlined for me her reasons for wishing to do so.

She wants to be with me because she needs to be there for her own personal satisfaction, and she has 28 vacation days and it has nothing to do with me. :)

I love her.

28 vacation days? Holy crap! That's an embarrassment of riches. Save a few for the honeymoon, kids!

I earn 20 a year, and had 8 or something ridiculous left over from last year. Perhaps it was five, but whatever. Fiscal year restarts over the summer, so it's not even as if I have to save them up in order to take a decent honeymoon - it's ridiculous!

Wow! That's really fabulous. I love my job, but I have to work at it all the damn time.

Ridiculous amounts of time off are what companies with unlovable jobs have to do to keep people. There have been times in the last five years (since I went to 33 vacation days based on my seniority) that the prospect of going back to "only" a week or two off has kept me at my desk.

Of course, I'm expected to give up as many of those vacation days as I wish to get paid for if I'm ever out sick, but not on disability of any kind.
