So, I went to change the laundry from the washer to the dryer. *looks prosaic*

Then I remembered I hadn't cleaned the cat box before we go away for the weekend, and I really couldn't sentence [livejournal.com profile] mearth to a weekend of that, so I stopped to grub out the kitty clumps, and drop them down the trash chute. Approximately a five-minute delay.

As I turned down the Endless Corridor to the laundry room, a woman was walking out of the laundry room with our laundry basket full of my wet clothes.

In my Foster Child Having Her Possessions Stolen Out From Under Her voice (it's kinda strident) I shouted "Stop! That's MINE!!"

She turned around, went back into the laundry room, set the basket down on the floor, turned again and walked right past me without looking at me or saying a word.

WTF.

Also, and unrelatedly, I'm applying to grad school again. If I don't get financial aid and fellowships, I can't go, but at least I'll have applied.

Okay, that's just odd.

Also, good luck on the grad school front, lovely.

Wow, that woman is such a whore. Unbelievable.

Note to self: do laundry on a different floor.

Thanks for the de-smellifying of the litter!

Yes, but it was an older woman and the clothes were wet, and why steal wet clothes?

The dryers on the 7th floor are new and give you an entire hour of drying time.

:)

oooh!

It is a sad day when I am excited about 900 seconds of hot air.

Considering current TV ratings, as well as current TV quality, I think far too many people are excited about 900 seconds of hot air . . .

...that? is Really Really Strange. What, she was going to take them to another laundry room to dry? Or just... I can't think of anything else she might do with them. That's SO weird.

Man, I've never actually had anything stolen from a laundry room, although I have had the charming experience of discovering my clothes dripping soapily on top of the dryer so that some impatient soul can wash her own clothes instead. (There must be a circle of hell for people who do that.) I have had a pair of gloves and a scarf disappear from a cloakroom once. That was bizarre.
