If you live around Arlington, Virginia and had a test for strep throat at Arlington Urgent Care in the past two months or so, I would go see your general practitioner. I think -- okay, I'm pretty sure -- their test materials were faulty.

And strep can cause long-lasting and yucky side effects.

Streptococcus pyogenes is not my friend.

Do I want to ask how you came by this information?

Okay, so A.U.C. told me I didn't, didn't, didn't have strep. This morning there was a huge abscess in my throat and it burst and I ran around screaming and shrieking and ABSCESS IN MY THROAT!!!!! and they're usually only present in strep infections.

Add this to the fact that N. certainly did have strep a month or two ago (white blotches in the throat, high fever, the works) and when we went to A.U.C, they swore she didn't have it either, and gave her some Nasonex.

ABSCESS IN MY THROAT.

(translation) I am so very sorry to hear that, because, yeah, abscess in the throat. Is there anything I can send you? Like massive amounts of drugs? Or possibly malpractice forms, to be filled out in the presence of a lawyer? I've got an extra tin of chai in the cupboard . . .
