So, I was watching the post Antiques Roadshow previews for whatever was on PBS next, and they had a documentary on the public execution of either a Saudi Princess in Afghanistan or an Afghani Princess in Iraq, I forget. Either way, the girl had border problems. But, so, you see, all these men holding machine guns and chanting in an alarming and scary manner and they lead out this very small woman all wrapped up in, you know, a black burqa. And there's three of them for this very small woman who, in western style photos, looked about 25, and then they back in this enormous truck of sand. Just a dump truck, full of like three tons of sand. And it was horrifying. And then PBS cut away. But you know it still happened. And so I'm horrified. And I thought, here's a woman getting buried alive because someone accused her of adultery, I'm not even sure she actually had committed adultery. But they were going to bury her under three tons of sand. And I get to live my life and snuggle my girlfriend and have a home and independence and nobody bothers me. So it's not fair that these horrifying things can go on.

And I doubt the PBS people discussed what probably happened to her at puberty that would render her pretty much incapable of enjoying adultery, assuming for the sake of argument she committed it.

If she wasn't married, would it be adultery, which is one guy adultering some other guy's line of descent with his own seed by banging that other man's wife? I've never been able to figure out how a crime that by definition can only be committed by a man winds up being such a harsh deal for the woman, except insofar as it allows men to bury the mistakes they're caught making.
