So cold.
Are these the end times? Is this what the second term of George W. Chuckles heralded?
OMG so cold. And fiancee likes to sleep with open windows. I don't usually mind so much except when it's cold.
Tomorrow: clean bathroom, go to doctor's appointment, do a load of linens, swing by work to pick up tips. Busy busy day. After tips, I can afford to buy matzah, but I've been doing all right with the homemade-in-eighteen-minutes sort.
This is the bread of affliction, which our forbears ate in Egypt; but our forbears weren't afflicted with rent and co-payments and rising petrol costs all in the same week that all the income is outgo, and plain old matzah is $3.79 a box in the shops here and I don't have that. I do have a fresh sack of flour, some spring water and an oven.
I did splurge on a tin of cakemeal, and am going to make a Pesach lemon sponge filled with lemon curd and whipped cream for this weekend coming.
I chose the recipe because its second or third line, after instructing one to spread the genoise in the cake pans, is Don't panic!
