I managed not to get into a massive anxiety thing about work last night. I did what I had to do to get my people out to the subway on time. (Whoever heard of a place where the subway shuts at midnight?) I didn't cut any corners, and we worked hard. That was all I could do.

I have Saturday off, unexpectedly. This is wonderful. It opens up a world of possibilities.

I friended many people I have been meaning to friend for some time. If this presents me with a friendslist I can still keep up with, I will friend more people. The glory of LJ!

I am training our houseful of furry ninja psychos to eat my mother on sight. My cunning plan involves withholding chow and baiting them with scraps of suitcase.

And I have a possible job thingy. *crosses fingers*

In other other news, while I didn't want a permanent account, I'm so pleased that people who wanted one got one. [livejournal.com profile] muffinbutt, happy birthday! I dunno, the urge to slink away and go silent sometimes makes me think it would have been a poor idea to go permanent. I wish my fiancee could have got one, though.

And we're going to try to eat healthier. I wish we could afford this better; I've never lived in a place where food -- raw goods, not prepared -- was so expensive. It wasn't this expensive in Chicago, for crying out loud.

That so rarely works. Furry ninja psychos tend to toy with us, seeming to catch on to the whole scrap-bait thing, then wandering off to chase bugs that look nothing like the actual target and blaming us for the bugs not being slow mice and flightless birds. There's a deep, endless cycle of recrimination involved that only ends with sound of a can opener on something one can ill-afford for cats except in the name of household tranquility.
