My company is hiring. Words cannot express how pleased I am to work here, how different-in-a-good-way the environment here is from a conventional city office environment, and how yummy the free donuts are when Mr. Donut Fairy shows up late to the staff meeting.

*snaffles conveniently professional company description from [livejournal.com profile] chickwriter*

Matrix Group is a Web services company located in Alexandria, VA. We specialize in full-service Web design, custom programming, and hosting. Many of our clients are trade and professional organizations and other non-profits.

We're growing very quickly, and our teams need lots of new people. Please let me know if you're interested in the following positions. (You can apply online! There's a very handy form. But if you come for an interview via me, I have time to chat up your CV to our director of HR, aka My Boss. *g*)

Cold Fusion Developer
ASP/.NET Developer
Project Manager
Spec Writer
Software Engineer

Also, we're as gay-friendly as a company can possibly be in Virginia, where the sodomite-lynching mob is only a legislative body away.

Yes, he's a programmer and website designer/maintainer. And he said he'd apply!

^_^

Well, I definitely need a job, but I'm technologically inept. How about something as a legal assistant or international relations or anything that pays where I've got this much: |_____| experience... oh to be unemployed for the first time ever! I know, I'm back from Peace Corps only 3 weeks today and not to get frustrated, but...it's just no fun living with the 'rents with no income!

I applied. *eeps* For the project manager position: it has a lot in common with what I'm doing now.

*eeps again*

Looking for a new job is so scary.

If you have questions about being a project manager, go on over and ask [livejournal.com profile] chickwriter, who is one. I'm so pleased you applied!

It's a very challenging job, but no one's unhappy here that I can tell.

It's always difficult for me to remember that about Virginia. I mean, I grew up there, so I assume it's not all that intolerant. But then I remember that I interacted with the most highly educated component of it, and that high education generally equals more liberal thinking. And that even my high school friends, who mostly have their heads screwed on straight on the subject of gay rights, are still more conservative around it than I like to recall.

Then again, I get that feeling in Massachusetts, too, from some of my client base and coworkers.
