A really painful pox on Toshiba, who sent me a non-functioning laptop.

So. Now more waiting, and more hassle on the telephone, and maybe the high price of walking into a retail outlet and buying a laptop is worth it to avoid all the crap that comes with getting a cheapish one through the mail.

Also, what kind of world do we live in when your Thanksgiving turkey must be pre-ordered by November 10th if you want a free-range organic one? What is it, Harry Potter and the Grain-Fed Poultry?

While I'm happy that they're anticipating high birdie demand, November 10 is a little too far ahead for me.

It's been a bad morning. Maybe it will be a better day.

Many hugs, dear. Though your icon makes me giggle.

Yeah, rar.

Wife is supposed to be handling it today, as they're only open from 9-5 for such complaints as 'MY LAPTOP NO WORKIE.'

Oh God -- you got a TOSHIBA?!?!? I feel like a failure as a friend (Blue and its sibling laptop were Toshibas)

Well, it fit my needs, which were small, and my budget, which was also small. All I really need is a word processor with internet, and the Toshiba machines at work are decently long-lived.
