Today I wore a nice white sweater for the fundraiser meeting this evening.
I spilled a mix of hot chocolate and French Roast down the front.
I am now wearing my zip-up hoodie, which I was prescient enough to take to work just in case.
As my wife says, "someday, you'll be a real girl!"
*sigh*
Also,
sovay wanted me to do the Seven Songs meme. I don't get music at work, helas, but here are some songs that have been in my head.
1. 'Souling Song', Lothlorien (They're defunct now as far as I can tell. If anyone has a copy of their version I will take it.)
2. 'Beautiful Child', Rufus Wainwright
3. 'The Beauty of the Rain', Dar Williams
4. 'Twa Corbies', Steeleye Span
5. 'Clocks', Coldplay
6. 'Efn, Efn', a popular tune from the Warsaw Ghetto*
7. 'Moishe Halt Zikh', a popular tune from the Vilna Ghetto*
*You can find both of these on the album Ghetto Tango, but Adrienne Cooper's vibrato gives me a rash.
If
darthrami,
la_rainette,
chaos_pockets,
penmage, and any others want to, and feel bored enough, they can meme along with me.

(also, I will love you forever if you send me the "Beautiful Child" file...)

Pretty sure.

Yay, "Twa Corbies."
I don't know either one of the two Yiddish pieces. Has anyone other than Adrienne Cooper ever recorded them?
(no subject)
Umm. I don't know another recording of the Yiddish stuff besides the unavailable 1930's-1950's Folkways stuff recorded by Abba Kovner/ the Yiddishe Kultur-Farband in Paris. Brandeis didn't have any.
There's sheet music for 'Moishe Halt Zikh' in Yes, We Sang! if you'd care to record it. Efn, Efn is probably in any Jewish fake-book, you just have to change the words over to rhyme 'kohantchik' (sweetheart) with 'sczmalcownik' (blackmailing Gestapo agent). It was done with apparent frequency and facility.

Kohantchik-sczmalcownik. I'll see what I can do.
