...Seven cups of flour later (it's going to snow) the dough is finishing its first rise.

I am listening to perhaps the worstest renditions of Yiddish cabaret ever, ever in the universe. Unfortunately, they're the only versions of Yiddish cabaret in the universe right now, if you want such bitter little gems as Mues and Coolies.

Drayt ven kalt es ist, un heys... I don't draye at all, but I find them sad, lovely, funny songs. I wish someone else would make recordings of them, though.

*quietly stabs Adrienne Cooper's vibrato through the eyes, though not without commending her efforts*

I was never entirely fond of her singing, or at least the little of it that I've heard.

I only have her singing "Zog Nit Keyn Mol" (thank you, Partisans of Vilna), but it's with a chorus, so there's not much Adrienne Cooper to be heard. I take it I should be thankful?

You should record them. You do know that you have a very nice voice; I've learned songs from you.

I'm a bit tone-deaf now. I don't know why. I can hear myself being tone-deaf, but can't correct for it.

Furthermore, I thought surely I had sent you Ghetto Tango piecemeal at some point. If not, I can amend the error when I get home today. Unfortunately for its scholarly strength as an archival album, its singers are the pianist who's not really keen on singing along while he plays the piano, and Adrienne Cooper, who gets all blowsy and sloppy and reaches for notes.

I need a soprano. There was one around here, but she was awfully skinny and possibly slipped through the cracks in the universe while attempting to make a coffee date with Inanna.

Oh, and congratulations!!!!!! On having a book coming out that I can point out to people on the store shelves. *beams*

You had not. I'm curious about its archival strengths (and I'll attempt to ignore the rest). Let me know what music you'd like in return?
