Quote of the weekend: "You need timed tickets to get into that Holy Cost Museum?"

I've had a wonderful weekend, filled with much activity. Last night, we went to dinner, and I got clothes and shoes, and then we had to try again to go to dinner, because someone at the first place had a seizure. But we had wonderful food, and lots of gratuitous ice cream, and the best service I'd ever had at a TGIFridays. And then today, we went to the Air and Space Museum, so that I could see the lunar excursion module. I also got astronaut ice cream. And, just so you can think this whole post is about food, we had started the day off with lunch at the Cafe of the American Indian. I highly recommend the Maple Corn Bread with fresh berries and Maple Cream. I also discovered there was not, in fact, a submarine at the Air and Space Museum. As we were queuing up for the Air and Space Museum, a couple behind us were discussing what they would do with the day ahead of them. Their plan was to visit the Air and Space Museum, and then "go next door" to the Holy Cost Museum. I turned around and pointed out to them gently that the Holocaust Museum was All The Way Down There. And added, helpfully, that you needed timed tickets to get in. There followed a five minute dissertation on what a timed ticket was and how the Holy Cost Museum worked. I suggested they might like to pick up a timed ticket for, say, a later time, and visit the Bureau of Engraving while they waited to get into the Holy Cost Museum, to which they replied, "Oh, we have one of those in Dallas." Mmm, tourists.

In closing, I would like to thank my wife for my wonderful birthday and the various strange habits she has resumed in order to please me.

a VERY happy birthday to you, Selkie!

A side note: I went to the library in Midvale, Utah yesterday and your book was on the new arrivals shelf! I thought you'd like to know that.

...wow. This is in reference to both the food and the tourists.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I realize I am regrettably late with my good wishes, but there was lots of family, and then I keeled over and no one woke me up. And now it is too late to call. Anyway, I hope you had a fabulous day, and I'm so glad I know you. You rock, as does your cat. *hugs*

Please tell my overlord that I'm working on the llamas.
