Okay, so the Irish government is smoking the special crack, and has been deporting people, and is trying to make citizenship a non-birthright (what, the island's not big enough? People starting to fall off the dog's back?).

I'm worried about Aiain. He was born in France, you see, as far as I know. I have no idea how the citizenship-thing affects him, as his mother (and his father, one supposes) was an Irish citizen. She was Resident Alien here (please, repress all jokes...)

Bleh. So confusing. Basically, if they amend their constitution and close themselves off like that -- really, a move to deny the children of illegal workers any sort of decent life, I think -- what happens to a noncitizen boy living in the custody of citizens?

They've been voting for half a day already; let's hope for a number of reasons the referendum does not go.

I don't have to catch the bus til later, and I'm having a golumpki for breakfast (I dislike most standard breakfast food) ...though now that I spell the word out, I start thinking of Gollum, and lumps. (A golumpki -- pronounced with the slash-l thing, actually, goWUMPki -- is cabbage stuffed with... stuff and served with vinegary tomato sauce. No, really, I like them. My family, we're such Polaks under the Litvak veneer.)

the 'twenty latest LJ entries and what they say' meme; enough about you, let's talk about me for a minute )

And now, more haiku from the cat.

I'm shedding again.

I'm really blowing coat. Look!

Hair there, and hair there.
