The Stars and the Cookie Jar

darthrami is watching 'This Old House'. I am pondering my knitting, and need to do research for my draft fairytale; I feel okay, I guess. No more than the usual apprehensions. I made reduced-fat-and-sugar banana cake for mearth's brunch event. And I am really, really boring. Y'all all go to your parties without me.

Finished the research for my fairy tale (mostly it consisted of staring at pretty pictures) and find myself wishing I could incorporate the Horned King/King Stag imagery that my mind wants to use. It's because of the richness of the potential picture, that great ornately-antlered golden deer on the steppe; there was a particular picture online of a kneeling stag with antlers curling back and back, rendered in solid gold, and about the size of someone's fist; and it would have been heavy and gorgeous and costly, maybe a fetish or something? Just such a thing to carry around. When you have so little to carry, and most of it is felt and horn and organic things like that, things that endure must be that much more symbolic.

Yeah, I make no sense when I'm writing, and getting into the world that I'm trying to write in. I love the pictures, though.
