I have a wife.

This is a very odd thing to be able to say.

I have the papers to legally change my name to [Mrs Selkie N's-Last-Name].

We're married. We have a certificate of the legal solemnisation of marriage, the exact same certificate issued to heterosexual couples who plunk down $211.25 CN at the registry counter in Toronto.

So I am someone's wife and I have a wife. So odd. So wonderful.

For those confused and trying to keep score, the huge ceremony, party and feast opportunity in October is technically a 'celebration of union'. This was just.... something we did for ourselves. Something we needed to do. And it's wonderful.

One of my bridesmaids has a king size bed available in her hotel room for $30/night. Let me know if you want to take advantage of it, b/c she doesn't have an LJ.
