Pizza and jeans tomorrow, in honour of Veteran's Day.

It sort of makes up for the fact that Virginia is Nuremberg-ing me out of more and more rights every day.

(Look, I know I 'elected' to marry the woman I love. I know I 'chose' to 'live this lifestyle'. I just don't see why people perceive the whole thing as so extreme. We're very mild, really. We want what you want: to live in a safe neighborhood, to go to work every day, to have health care when we're ill, and to rear happy, healthy children. Isn't that alarming and terrible? [Yes, I know [livejournal.com profile] buongiornodaisy thinks it actually is. But I can't help my wife's friends.])

ETA: I have no problem outing people as tacky. Because the world needs another young, uninformed conservative with an overlarge sense of entitlement. And it's my LJ.

'Conservative because I can be'. Blah blah. All over her damn LJ. It's one of those things. I absolutely can't and don't want to control who my wife talks to, but I think it's tacky. She's going to grow up into The Problem With America, and I can't stand it.

Ohhhhh I see. Yeah I have her friended, and she's got the weird thing going on with the shooting off at the mouth, but I don't get the impression that she actually believes in anything at all yet because so little has happened to her. It's just her defending a position she knows.

It may change.

Yeah, but they grow up. Into real conservatives. With a heaping helping of the intruding into other people's bedroom lives.

No, they actually don't. Not always anyway. I was very like her, because I was raised to be, and I grew up to be a commie pinko fag-loving trannie-hag.

That's all I'm saying.

Maybe I'm just hormonal and having a day where in my LJ, someone else gets to be the pariah. And she's unlucky, maybe, because she has had the bad misfortune to froth off at the mouth (or the LJ) and I've seen it.

I can see that. And I can also see where you're totally justified in frothing, so. No real argument here. Just, as usual, shades of grey where I'm standing.

Oh, I didn't think you were being argumentative. Your points were good. It's all a part of a larger 'people who vote on issues without having the knowledge or experience to understand their impact' thing.

I agree, and it happens across the board, unfortunately. The scarier ones for me,though, are the ones that have the knowledge and experience and still vote the other way.
