The Stars and the Cookie Jar

That was a spam headline this morning, and it's stuck in my head all day. What was Thor's fault? It reminds me of this neat little duet of stories sovay did an appalling number of years ago now. I can totally picture Loki's offspring recounting some exploit of his father's at a soigne cocktail party. 'And we lost the bumper off the Winnebago on our way out of Jotunheim, but he always said it was that idiot Thor's fault....'

In other news, lots of holiday season stuff happening at work. The director of HR asked me to bring in my menoyre, 'just for the holiday party, then you can have it back.'

I should say that our menoyre, while quite nice, is from Wegmans and has some stubborn rainbow-coloured wax on it in tricky places. I'm not sure how it will compete with all the bits of balsam and ribbon swags tricking the place out currently. Also, I'm not really sure what the director of HR wants it for, when the holiday isn't till the 15th.

And speaking of the holiday, I'm making a chestnut cheesecake with a bittersweet chocolate glaze. That's what I'm doing with my hoarded can of Clement Faugier marrons glaces. *firm about this, as has been waffling endlessly* If I just do a mont blanc, no one will eat it.
