I can't decide whether to just deal with it and walk carefully to the Metro this afternoon, or squeeze money out of the grocery budget to buy new pants on my lunch break.

Some things to consider: I hate shopping at the one store I can walk to from work, because everything they carry for Larger Women is off-black polyester and comes in size: shapeless; and I don't really need trousers in the general sense. It took a few years, but I can now do the One Work Week No Repeats thing, even with this little mishap.

Option A sounds better to me than spending money on fugly pant syou don't need in the long term.

It is what I am leaning towards. It's not SUCH a bad rip, I just can't sit like a truck driver on the train.

Can you walk to somewhere and grab a sewing kit? Like a drug store?

There is a Walgreens, but (again this is me being cheap) I have a purse sewing kit. SOMEWHERE.

Why do we never know where those things are when we need them! Maybe it is just me--I can never find anything. :/

I'd probably go with option a, or at least rather than buying a pair of pants that you'll hate, see if you can find a cheap sarong/piece of cloth/scarf, (or borrow one, if you have a nifty office mate of the scarf-y inclination) wrap it like a skirt-over-pants thing, and let that be that.

I'd go with A and maybe try to borrow a sweater, but I am generally without shame. Or at least, my shame is nothing compared with my cheapness.

Are the pants repairable? If it can be managed, at least buying new pants over the weekend sounds preferable to buying right now pants you will personally hate.
