So I found a store today, in DC. Well, vaguely in DC. I am still raging sick, and apparently in the process of fighting my high fever, my body let in some cold germs. But I found a store! I could have started tomorrow, if I wanted. I do want, but I have a 90-day commitment to my new store.

Went to the Kennedy Centre with my fiancee. There was an amazing children's concert of Peter and the Wolf, with some really good-spirited musicians who interacted with mimes. All I want for Christmas is a brass instrument and a pith helmet... It was amazing. There were no female violoncellists -- the concertmaster was a woman, and two in the viola section -- but two of the four cellists they had were in eerily, scarily perfect time.

We both love music, so. It was a brilliant afternoon.

And then we came home and fixed dinner and we're about to make chocolates for Rainette. We're so domestic, my lovely beloved and I. I'm trying not to, you know, touch foodstuffs, and I'm washing my hands like a psycho, never fear.

It's really hard for me to know I could roll out of bed tomorrow, throw on some khakis, put myself in the Partner Master, and live here.

Nothing to do, I suppose, but grit my teeth and go on.

Tomorrow I will get writing done. I will.

And ooh, look, Kitty's gnawing on the Ethernet wire. Dear Kitty, we regret to inform you that this course of action is possibly ill-advised.

y'all are too cute! I'm sure you're sick of hearing it, but tough. Does this mean you won't be in the Boston area over the holidays? That would suck, because if you were I'd hatch an evil plan to actually meet you.

Well, I'm working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so far as I know, and we're not yet sure about New Year's. I'll let you know!
