We called the ACLU --
darthrami called, and it was really rather a quick thing -- and so we'll see.
And in other news,
la_rainette has a house!
well, one supposes her husband and beautiful children have it too *g* I shall have to select a particularly good wine for when we visit in the Spring. I have this urge to slap the pictures up on this page, because it's really a lovely home, and it looks to be perfect to rear children in, and it has a fireplace, and my fiancee and I laid around in bed together just before she had to leave and we aspired to a house like that.
Felicitations to her.
I want to say the parting from
darthrami was easier, but damn, it wasn't. All I can do is cuddle her pillows on her side of the bed (actually, it's all her side of the bed; ask her while she's asleep) and remember that I see her again for Silvestri.
I'm not in fandom, and right now I cannot afford to give much tzedakah, but regarding the recent wank over who gave what to whom and for what reason and why those reasons are whatever, I have this to say:
I get by, with a little help from my friends.

Also, I took the time today to call my Congressman and one of my Senators (I would've called Kerry too, but honestly, Ted has so much more clout and after the election, who's going to listen to Kerry?) to pass along my own personal "Hey, America has a problem, you're supposed to represent me, so . . . fix it!"
I also contacted Congressman Markey's office to tell them to keep up the good work (apparently they're working to get some sort of accountability to outside sources involved). I figure it can't hurt :)
*hug*
But mostly I'm just proud of you for calling the ACLU. Keep me posted on how things go . . .

In other news, I am glad you called the ACLU, and I hope something comes out of it. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.
And I don't understand the wank, either
And wah, parting again :(

And referring to your upstream post, my aunt/godmother died as a result of complications from diabetes; both my mother and I are vulnerable (although we still haven't tested positive for it yet). :nodnodnod!:
Happy Hanukah.
