Today was a pinnacle of marvelous. Woke up with the woman I love beside me, drove to Brandeis and met [livejournal.com profile] sovay, and then ditched the car at Alewife and went assorted places I haven't been since my undergraduate days, like the Garage. Went to Pandemonium Books and got a bagful of sequels, including the Rosemary Kierstein I thought the world would never see. We had pizza! It was an odd collation of pizza, including one we thought was corned-beef-and-cabbage, but turned out to be pastrami-and-sauerkraut.

Oh! Oh, and I had bacon. It was on N's pizza along with potatoes and cheddar.

Then there was TeaLuxe, and then we went to a small and delightful children's bookstore; and then we went to Trader Joes, and had the car washed, and filled the petrol tank, and so came home feeling very accomplished.

(I fixed schnitzels. We are so domestic and boring.)

There's champagne and cheesecake yet to come, if we can rouse ourselves to it. I am happy, and in love, and so perfectly at peace.

I'm actually smiling.

This was definitely a cool day. Chaider (i.e., spiced chai steeped in hot cider rather than ordinary boiling water; one of the many beautiful legal substances that TeaLuxe sells) is my Best New Crack of . . . um, 2005? So thank you for introducing me to another addiction that I cannot afford. : ) Also, books. But books have always been my drugs of choice. I need no encouragement to bankrupt myself on their behalf. Just maybe you should visit a little more often than once a quarter-year! I swear it wouldn't hurt you . . .
